(Because ain't nobody got time for this.)
Fall is officially here! Time to pull out your fuzzy socks, sweaters, start planning your amazing Halloween costume, stuff your face with cinnamon-apple-spice-pumpkin flavored foods, and binge-watch every Disney Channel Halloween movie ever made (Hello, Halloweentown). With all of these things to do and not to mention all the Instagram-worthy pictures in leaves we have to take, it gets hard to keep up with the cute fall booties, dark skinny jeans, and fabulous coat/scarf combos even for fashion lovers out there. Even makeup trends can be stressful. Who wants to be stressed out with their dark lip while they’re sipping on hot cocoa with marshmallows? Who wants to spend hours on contouring when you could be making your bone structure disappear even more by stuffing your face? It almost makes you wanna wear sweats and Uggs for the rest of the season; but fear not, I have graciously accumulated some comfy and easy fall guidelines that will keep you looking put together and living your best fall life.

Sneaker’s Are a Girl’s Best Friend
Throw those heeled boots in the back of the closet and grab your favorite Adidas (or Nikes...I don’t judge). This is a trend that I follow religiously and you should too. Sneakers are being used more and more in the fashion world with pretty much everything from fancy dresses to jeans. Not only are they super comfy, but they add a cool girl vibe to any outfit that will give you this swagger and strut when you’re walking down the street. You can never go wrong with a neutral color sneaker like white, black, nude or gray especially if you wanna keep your fashion stress-free, but those adventurous ones who like a challenge, go for some statement sneakers to make your outfits pop. For a simple fall outfit, try pairing some sneakers with some jeans, a bright sweater, and a cool denim jacket for a 70s laid back look.

Fancy Sweats
I honestly never thought that I would see the day where people would call wearing track pants and sweats fashion and it not being a 2004 Juicy Couture tracksuit. And while being known as a sweat pant hater for years, I actually like this trend. You can wear these pants with heels or sneakers, sweaters or bralettes, and always look sleek, trendy, and feel comfortable. They’re the new staple in street fashion. Now we can walk around feeling like we're on top of the fashion world in our sweats- what will fashion think of next? Pairing these updated sweats with a simple button-down and play it up with some classic brogues or play it down with some eye catching sneakers will make it look like you came from the office instead of looking like you binge-watched The Office.

The Bigger, The Better (For Sweaters)
I feel like this trend started specifically to hide everyone’s bellies after Thanksgiving. Also it’s the perfect trend for when you have to meet up with someone and wanna take a nap right after (instant comfort). Oversized sweaters are comfy, cute, and a great trend to follow this season. They’re a great statement piece that can requires minimum effort when you’re lazy, but still wanna look good. I love sweaters because they’re so versatile and they’re so many cuts and styles that everyone is bound to have a favorite sweater. From turtlenecks with chunky cable knits to fuzzy patterns to loose off the shoulder sweaters, all will give the lazy cool girl vibe that we all try to achieve. My favorite way to style this trend is with a turtle neck, some overalls, and sneakers for a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air vibe.

Channel Your Inner Wednesday Addams
Now wearing all black has been a lazy girl tip to look sleek for years, but it never hurts to remind everyone. Also wearing all black puts you in the mood for Halloween. The trend works are on styles and looks good on everyone. Not to mention that it’s the easiest trend to follow because black goes with everything. Wear a simple LBD or black slacks and a top; either way people are gonna look at you as someone who plans their outfits ahead while in reality you just grabbed something at of your closet because you were running late.

Not Your Momma’s Mom Jeans (but they lowkey are)
This is a trend that I recently started wearing (I’m late, I know), and I’m obsessed. No longer will we have to struggle to stuff our thighs and butts in skinny jeans or struggle to bend down. Mom jeans are crazy comfy and they make my butt look good so that easily makes them a winner. Also these are the only women jeans that I know off that actually have pockets so let's take advantage of that. This trend is obviously from the throwback phase fashion has been having by bringing fashion elements back from the 90s, 80s, and 70s. While you can style mom jeans with the retro swag they had back in the day with a colored button down with some sneakers, you can also modernize them with a minimalist or chic twist with a ruffled blouse and some pumps.

Just Brows and Glo (Pun Intended)
Contouring is hard. You know it, I know it, so why do we try? Also who has time to blend eyeshadow and making sure you perfectly line your lips when you really need to be worrying about when Hocus Pocus is coming on abc family. You don’t need to stress about ruining your dark berry lip while you’re sipping warm apple cider (or a pumpkin spice latte if you’re basic). Honestly the only thing you truly need are brows and a healthy glow. Who said you have to keep your summer glow only in the summer? Wear it all year around! Highlight is like a pine tree, it’s a year around thing. Applying brows, foundation, and highlight will be enough to make you look like you didn’t just binge watch every Halloween ever the night before. Practicing this look will keep you looking healthy and put to together even though all you’ve done all season is not shave and cuddle with your cats in the dark.

Just Add Glasses
Now this is a rule that I followed all through my senior year of high school and I always got compliments on my outfits. I had a pretty simple outline for my outfits: jeans, a long t-shirt or button down shirt, and sneakers. It sounds really boring, but I made it less boring with accessories. Jackets, necklaces, earrings, glasses, and hats can make any boring outfit look personalized and cool. No one will know that you were too lazy to look nice if you put in some cute earrings and place a beret on your head. With accessories you can make one outfit work for everything. From work to school, date nights to girls night out; accessories can make anything look put together and trendy. Try getting a good jacket like a blazer or a denim jacket as well something eye catching like some quirky earrings or beret to make you look cultured and sophisticated.

Baggy is the New Slim
I placed this trend last because out of all these guidelines, this one is the trickiest. The baggy silhouette is hard because you could either end up looking like Rihanna or like you just raided your 6’2 dad’s closet. It’s very easy to look overwhelmed with the combination of a baggy top and bottom, but knowing your body and knowing what accessories work for you can make you look like the ultimate cool working girl who goes to political art galleries and is in the Vogue street fashion section. If you’re feeling overpowered by your outfit then try tucking in the top to give your body back some form. If you’re pretty sure wearing sized trousers will eat up your legs then maybe try culottes or cropped frayed jeans. Heels also work with solving this problem. When pulling this off right you’ll feel comfortable and no longer have to worry about skinny jeans cutting the circulation at your waist this season when you wanna chow down on some candy or turkey. While everyone will think you wore this outfit because you know your trends it’s because you don’t want everyone to see your food baby. And that’s okay.
